Terrible Information
Welcome to the world of Terrible Cake Party, where the cakes are disgusting, the ingredients are bizarre, and the fun never stops! We’re a community-driven game that blends physical cards, on-chain NFTs, and ridiculous humor to create a chaotic, cake-filled experience. Here is everything you need to know about Terrible Cake Party in the form of a FAQ.
About Terrible Cake Party
Terrible Cake Party has been a long time in the making, its actually been almost 2 years since I came up with the original idea for this game and supporting token. It’s taken so long because I really wanted to make sure that it was going to be something that had value and was useful for the Cardano community. I didn’t want to half-ass it and release it with a whole bunch of “coming soon” parts, nobody likes that and nobody believes that it’s actually coming soon.
Who’s behind this project?
This project is the work of 1 person. There is no “team” (at least not right now, though I plan to hire people with some of the funds that are raised). I have been a part of the Cardano community since 2017, some of you know me as Coconut Pool and some of you might know me as Jon_Made_This. I have tried to be an active and productive member of the community, but I don’t always have the time to participate as much as I would like to. I know I’m not nearly as active as some of you and I appreciate all of the community members who are out there everyday promoting, designing, developing and working to expand the reach of Cardano.
What is Terrible Cake Party?
Terrible Cake Party is a meme and a game. It’s a joke and something fun to do when you’re bored. It’s about being silly and making fun of some of the crazy food things you see on the internet.
Tell me about the meme..
The meme part is the joke about how inedible some of the things you see people make online are. I don’t know if you’ve seen some of the crazy things people supposedly eat, but a lot of them are really disgusting and yucky and I couldn’t help but be inspired to make fun of them. The cakes of the Terrible Cake Party are some of the worst ideas for food ingredients that you could put into a cake that I could think of, things that there is no way you would possible want to eat (though I admit, looking back on it now some don’t seem as bad as I had originally intended).
Tell me about the game…
The Terrible Cale Party game is about trying to out yuck the competition. Each player gets a delt a hand of cards and then the cards are played in successive rounds until they are all gone, with the winner of each round being the player whose card is the most disgusting.
The game exist both online and offline. The “base” game is played off-chain, the cards are stored in a database on the games server and all the players have access to the same cards. However, eventually, through community involvement, the game will be expanded to include more on-chain elements such as limited edition NFT based cakes that you’ll be able to play in the online version of the game along with the base set of cakes. The online version of the will reward the top 5 weekly winners and they will receive a share of the weekly winners pool of $TCP for playing.
You can also purchase a physical deck of cards so that you can play Terrible Cake Party with your friends at home and at real parties. The physical deck are poker card sized playing cards and consist of the base set of cakes (48 cakes) and may eventually be expanded to offer some of the NFT community cakes as well.
The community will help expand the game..
As the community around the game grows, so will the game. The idea is that the community will purpose new disgusting cakes to add to the game and then we will vote on them. The cakes that receive the most votes will be added to the game in the form on limited edition NFTs. By having more cakes available via NFT, the game can be more diverse in its play with players having access to cards that other players may not have, thus making the game more fun and competitive.
